Symbol Laptop/Notebook Wireless Network PCMCIA Card 802.11b 2.4GHz LA4121 Wifi
    64/128-Bit WEP
The LA-4121 PC Card (PCMCIA) adapter provides Spectrum24 direct-sequence (DS) 2.4 - 2.5 GHz spread spectrum communications capacity for use within large or small environments.
The bridging architecture allows communication between wired network devices and mobile devices and supports the IEEE 802.11b and Wi-Fi compliance specifications.
Devices using the LA-4121 can communicate with wireless devices from other manufacturers that conform to the same specifications, allowing mobile devices to roam throughout large facilities while remaining connected to the network, unlike standard wifi devices.
TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) is an encryption protocol included as part of the IEEE 802.11i standard for wireless LANs (WLANs). It was designed to provide more secure encryption than the notoriously weak Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP), the original WLAN security protocol.
