    Description

    Oversized limited-edition Japanese sosaku hanga woodblock print by Kiyoshi Saito (1907-1997) titled "Toriemoto Kyoto (L)."  The bottom margin is titled in English, dated 1967, and numbered 69/100.  The image is signed "Kiyoshi Saito" in white ink and  sealed in red.  A Kiyoshi Saito watermark is at the lower right margin.  Paper: 18" x 23 1/2" (image: 14 7/8" x 20 5/8").  This print is from the family collection of Peter Berndtson, a former apprentice of Frank Lloyd Wright and a highly respected Pennsylvania architect until his death in 1972.  His drawings are in a collection at Carnegie Mellon Institute in Pittsburgh.
